For the first time in the last 5 years I get to experience autumn/fall in Germany again – recently I’ve returned from living/working in the tropics with only dry and wet seasons… – so this is a truly amazing experience for me to see the transition nature is going through. The different tones of green, yellow, red, brown turn the landscape into beautiful paintings.
Yesterday morning, I grabbed my camera bag and headed to a nearby forest reserve. I wanted to capture this colorful season in its full glory in the morning sun. After a few shots, clouds moved in and light faded drastically, which interfered with my idea to capture bright, sunny landscape photos – well, that’s part of autumn too, the weather changes quickly. So instead, I pulled out my flashgun and concentrated on shooting close-ups and exploring small details of the forest. I hope to add a few more “good-weather” autumn landscape shots soon.
UPDATE (10/30/2010): I had good luck with the weather recently. I spent the whole day in the forest reserve, immersing myself in the beautiful scenery. After 6 hours of straight photographing, my stomach reminded me that I hadn’t brought any snack or drink…lesson learned.
